Interview with Zoe

Out of the blue, Zoe says: Mommy, I'm gonna date when I get older.

Mommy: Oh yeah? What is the guys name?

Zoe: Jacob & Justin. Well I'm just gonna be the mom and they are going to be my kids and I'm gonna take care of them.

Mommy: Really? Well are you gonna have a job when you get older?

Zoe: Yes.

Mommy: Well what are you gonna be?

Zoe: I'm gonna work on my dad's ship.

Mommy: What is going to be your job there?

Zoe: I'm going to play with my toys.

Mommy: What toys?

Zoe: My babies.

Mommy: Hey Zoe, where does your mom work?

Zoe: In the office and on the couch.

Mommy: What do I do when I work?

Zoe: You click a mouse.

Mommy: Really?! What does daddy do at work?

Zoe: He takes care of us. And he saves us from monsters. And mommy will save us from a fire if the house fires. And you don't get fired if you are good. You only get fired if you are bad.

Mommy: Oh ok. Zoe, who do you know that used to fight fires?

Zoe: Grandpa McFair used to be a fighter-fighter.

Mommy: Honey, its just Grandpa Fair not McFair.

Zoe: Hahahahahahaha.

Mommy: Zoe what did Grandpa McClain used to do?

Zoe: Um, he is your dad.

Mommy: I know he is and what does he do?

Zoe: I don't know. Hahaahaha.

Mommy: He is a businessman.

Zoe: Oh yeah, a businessman. And he protects us and keeps us safe too.

Overheard at the Fair House

The Stage: We were up early yesterday morning to go pick-up Daddy from work. Zoe came downstairs to sit on my lap and wake up a bit.

The Sound: booowuero

Zoe says, "My butt-butt sounded like a tuba!"

Blogworthy!

First the after shot of my poor baby boy...

Then the story...

The kids and I drove up to Everett, WA yesterday to pick up JT for his two-week leave period before he goes on Deployment. We stopped at Wal-mart in Marysville, WA to get the oil changed in the truck and while in the waiting room Jaxon tripped and hit his face on a metal chair. OUCH! Needless to say, he has 4 stitches now and coincidentally I took him to the hospital he was born in!!

Super Easy Recipe

We are all looking for inexpensive alternatives to everything these days! This is a super easy, inexpensive, and satisfying alternative to your favorite pizza place!

Here are the 4 simple ingredients!
I have a tendancy to go with the low-fat options...however, you can choose your variation of ingredients (including Canadian Bacon and Pineapple!)

Throw it together...
Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Dinner is ready!

Enjoy!

Finished Project

The tables are finally finished and in their room! The room surely isn't finished however we are getting there! Can you believe I made them...start to finish?! The hardest part was getting them up the stairs by myself. *sigh* The room eventually will have sort of an americana feel to it. Not THEMED...please no...don't think I meant themed...just sort of americana.

Note: Kitty's name is Kitt. Any ideas who named him!? Ohhhh another blog idea...introductions will be posted sooon!!

Before & After

Before: Ewwwww! Plain!

After: Awwww! Vamped up!

Ok can you see it?! It says FAIR in wooden black block letters! Hung by black wire with little scraps of fabric tied to the wire! Cute, eh?!

A Family Outing

A few weekends ago I made the trek up to Everett to see JT instead of him driving home. It gives him a break and gets me out of the house. We took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese and they loved it!

Jaxon's favorite event was buckling his seatbelt. Not the ride, but just buckling his seatbelt.

And this is what happens to a 3-year-old with no nap before Chuck E. Cheese...

And this is what happens to a 1-year-old and his Mommmy after Chuck E. Cheese!

Projects in Progress

I have been spending my mommy time in the garage handcrafting a coffee table and end table for my bonus room! Although the bonus room has been a bedroom a few times we have finally settled on making it another family room with dual purpose as a guest room. So far we have a couch in there and soon to purchase the loveseat with a sleeper in it.

Please, please, please do not look at the clutter in the background! My poor husband cleans his garage everytime he comes home and everytime he leaves...I mess it up! Hehehehehe!

So here are the tables in progress. The top is comprised of reclaimed barn wood that I retrieved for FREE off of CL!

I love the distressed worn look so there is a little paint missing here and there. The bottom is made up of a bunch of 2x4's that were laying around in my garage. They really needed to go away...so I thought...I'll make some tables! Waaaallaaaaaa!

There will be barn wood on the top and a barn wood shelf across the lower 2x4 braces. Eh?!!

I've suffered a few minor injuries making these tables and I'm starting to think that I shouldn't use power tools. Its not even safe for me to use a hand sander...nope. Certainly not.

I will be sure to post the finished product...soon!
